Stating that the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), affiliated to the World Health Organization (WHO), has announced that the number of new cancer cases in Europe is estimated to increase by 22.5 percent in the next two decades, Savaşan said that according to the agency, the number of cancer cases will reach 30.9 million in 2045, up from 19.9 million in 2022.
Stating that it has been revealed that the number of cancer diagnoses will increase by % 55 globally between 2022 and 2045, Dr. Ahmet Savaşan said, “The new estimates announced before World Cancer Day on February 4 emphasize the need to address the increasing burden of cancer and its different course in societies. Experts reveal that one-third of cancers worldwide are preventable and one-third can be treated when detected early.
